Error "Call Error 31402 - UserMedia Acquisition Failed Error" with Twilio VoIP integration

In this article we will explain the reason behind the error 31402 when using the Twilio VoIP integration.


Problem Description

When trying to make a call in talos using the Twilio VoIP integration, you get the following error:
  1. Call Error 31402 UserMedia Acquisition Failed Error
  2. AcquisitionFailedError (31402): The browser and end-user allowed permissions, however getting the media failed. Usually this is due to bad constraints, but can sometimes fail due to browser, OS or hardware issues.


Solution

This error will appear either if your browser does not have permissions to use the audio devices (speakers and/or microphone) or because the browser can not detect the audio devices.
You can try to give the relevant permissions to evalink's site in your browser.

Another solution is to connect an external headset on your computer and again allow the browser to make use of the microphone.
